The website “Zeit statt Zeug” (time rather than stuff) aims to make people give time spent together as a present rather than things. “Waldluft statt Parfüm” (forest air instead of perfume), for instance, encourages people to go for a walk together. After the success of the website, the project has been taken one step further. Selected supermarkets now offer vouchers for 60, 90 and 120 minutes of time spent together. In the face of what may be the first ever free supermarket product, the customer learns that a valuable gift does not have to cost anything.
