What is a non-design hobby or interest that impacts your creativity?

Sci-fi movies and anime have a profound and positive impact on my creativity. As designers progress in the professional realm, our imagination often faces backlash and restrictions due to pragmatism. We must be mindful of the potential hazards that excessive practicality can impose on our creative process. Movies and anime relax my mind and frequently open new avenues for creative thinking, ultimately translating into meaningful design considerations.

What advice would you give your younger self starting out in design?

'Stay committed to your goals, yet be flexible with the means.' The journey of building character and honing design skills is undeniably challenging, often overwhelming in the face of emerging technologies and trends, particularly the rapid growth of AI today. Therefore, one must remain humble, open, and curious about new ideologies while remembering the reasons for starting this journey. As we steadily develop ourselves, we shall contribute to humanity through exceptional design work.

How do you adapt through feedback without compromising your vision?

When talents unite for a collective cause, expertise and ideas collide. Creatives must be selective yet open to feedback, recognising that it often contains both constructive insights and subjective perspectives. A crucial trait of any great designer is the ability to set ego aside and understand that constructive feedback is meant to enhance the solution. Through teamwork, great design can truly emerge.
