Susanne Lippitsch

Mag. art.ᵃ Susanne Lippitsch, born in Vienna in 1973, studied industrial design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and at the Elisava School of Design in Barcelona, where she specialised in packaging design.

Since 2001, Susanne Lippitsch has been working as a freelance packaging designer in Vienna. Her studio, SL Design, focuses on three-dimensional packaging design that combines function, form and brand identity. She designs packaging solutions that are both aesthetically pleasing and resource-efficient and has contributed significantly to the establishment of professional packaging design in Austria over the past two decades. Susanne Lippitsch has received numerous awards for her designs.

In addition to her work as a designer, she has been a lecturer in packaging design at FH Joanneum in Graz since 2001, teaching courses in industrial design, information design and Sustainable Food Management, at the Advertising and Design Academy in Salzburg (until 2022), at the University of Applied Sciences Campus Vienna on the Sustainable Packaging Development Technology course, at the New Design University in St. Pölten on the Food & Design course, at the Advertising Academy in Vienna and, since 2022, at the SRH Berlin School of Design and Communication.

Her expertise as a juror has already taken her to Shanghai, regularly to Brussels for the European Carton Excellence Award and to the Austrian State Prize for Exemplary Packaging.
