Airbag Prosthesis

To provide prosthesis with an update, Airbag Prosthesis proposes a new socket design. There are several issues with the existing prosthesis socket design, which comes into direct contact with the user’s amputated foot. The first issue is that the socket is too rigid to work with human muscles, deforming them with movement. Second, the tightness of the socket causes blood vessels to constrict and the foot to deform. To address this issue, adjustable airbags can be fitted. Users can adjust the airbag to accommodate foot deformities, while having the foot supported. The airbag also absorbs the impact of walking and responds to muscle changes. It will support the user’s foot at a single point rather than covering the entire foot, allowing for greater comfort and ventilation. Airbag Prosthesis will enable disabled users to walk more enjoyably.
