BEIDOU

Light has been used for guidance from time immemorial – anything from lighthouse lamps to the stars in the sky. The BEIDOU product family, named after the Chinese moniker for the Great Bear constellation, follows this tradition. It is manufactured by a lighting specialist with roots in the hotel and catering sector who is very familiar with the industry’s lighting requirements. The BEIDOU downlights were specifically developed for the large conference and multifunction rooms in luxury hotels. For many years now, major hotels have been supplementing their guest accommodation income with an event and catering business, organising everything from large-scale parties and family gatherings to conferences and seminars. A hotel venue that regularly hosts a range of different events needs to adapt the spaces for each new event, including the lighting, which means that technicians usually have to climb up and down high ladders countless times to adjust numerous fixtures individually. The BEIDOU downlights put an end to this time-consuming and strenuous task. The luminaires have a motorised design for simple adjustment with a convenient and customisable remote control. A graphic solution can be used to import a photograph of the room and designate the position of the spotlights for effective control of a large number of fixtures. Rather than being attached to the sockets, as is conventionally the case, the cables are integrated into the exterior to facilitate a 360-degree rotation of the BEIDOU downlights. The light sources provide the necessary lumen output, as well as a precise beam angle for the optimum illumination of tables or stages.
