To digitise the sales process, the Austrian eyewear brand Silhouette developed the “Buy Local” e-commerce initiative to generate leads and potential sales for established retail partners via its website. It offers a convenient online shopping experience for sunglasses and now also combines a click-and-collect online service for optical glasses. At the core of the website is the virtual try-on function which enables customers to try on all models “live” from home. The chosen model is subsequently fitted, adjusted and sold by the customer’s preferred local optician; an appointment can also be made directly on the site.
