Cello

The German Landesmusikräte (State Music Councils) have chosen the cello as Musical Instrument of the Year 2018. To mark the occasion, a graphic section of the classical instrument was created. The illustrations break down the key features of the instrument into their components and reinterpret them. It is not the entirety of the instrument that is in the foreground. In this graphic experiment, the attention is placed on the character of the cello in each detail, along with its shapes, symmetries and the graphic representation of the sound in focused sections.
