Compass is a remote control for the more comfortable and hygienic use of smart toilets. The device responds to hand signals or via integrated voice recognition – for example, to open the lid or seat or to operate the flush. This significantly reduces the user’s manual contact with the unit. The jury highlighted the minimalist design of the remote control as well as the ease of use and especially emphasised the hygiene aspect with regard to public spaces, hospitals and care facilities.
