Fastener Removal Mill

뒤로 다운로드

One of the biggest problem sources of production and maintenance in the aerospace industry are the fasteners. On average, there are over 1 million fasteners used in every plane. Even if only 0.01% of the fasteners need to be changed, that still equates to an average of 1012 hours of work per month – the monthly workload of six operators. Removing fasteners is extremely difficult since the surface of the plane needs to remain unscratched. The FRM-019 greatly simplifies the process of removing incorrect fasteners by precisely milling down the fastener to up to 0.01mm (this gap is adjusted by a ring on the tool). This is important since different materials are used and the milling-bit should never scratch the plane. The tool also solves other problems of manual removal like having to skilfully hit the fastener exactly at a perpendicular. In contrast to the competitor, the FRM-019 needs only 3 different mill-heads to cover almost 90% of all fastener sizes. For easy maintenance, the handle contains all the electronic parts while the tool-head contains the mechanical parts. To not lose any precision with the tool-bit, only the complete tool-head is supposed to be changed. Red Dot Award: Design Concept | Concept | Industry & Tools
