FLUID

Fluid enables wheelchair users to move more quickly and easily. It incorporates a sharing system by redesigning existing products, allowing users to assemble their handbikes with personal or public rental platforms to travel wherever they want. It is also compatible with public transportation, thus giving access to more transportation options. When moving into an indoor space, Fluid only needs to be parked near public rental platforms for storage and recharging. Assembling this wheelchair-accessible handbike is as simple as pushing the wheelchair forward into the handbike. The wheelchair’s structure and layout were redesigned to ensure safe operation. This includes the addition of a rear turn signal to indicate the direction the wheelchair is travelling, wheel hub brakes for more immediate deceleration, and the use of wheels with inclined angles to reduce the risk of tripping and overturning.
