Fun with Relics

뒤로 다운로드

Relics are carriers of history and culture, the inheritance of which has been an issue of common concern. The designers believe that the preservation of local lifestyles is just as important as that of architecture and history, if not more. Thus, local lifestyles should be appreciated and comprehended with respect. In this light, the focus of Fun With Relics across the board is the transformation of the periphery area into a happy space, and an ‘event space’ is proposed to provide the revitalisation of old relics with new imagination and possibilities. The site of choice for the revitalisation is the Agenna Shipyard Relics. Based on research in the fragmentary borders of Keelung as well as local behaviour, different events are generated, where the new structures would constantly intertwine with the early frameworks of Agenna. With all events clashing and developing, new layers are presented alongside the old relics, forming a disjunction on site that could be reconnected by the audience in their imagination, therefore strengthening the bonds and deepening the connections between users and the local area.
