iViz wireless (Automatic Bladder Volume Measurement)

Portable ultrasound devices that fit comfortably in the pocket have fundamentally changed the way medical imaging diagnostics are performed. One of the obstacles that have heretofore prevented the widespread use of such devices in inpatient medical care and home nursing is the difficulty that their handling presents for non-experts. The iViz wireless ultrasound diagnostic imaging device solves this problem, especially with regard to the assessment of the urinary bladder, by automatically measuring the volume of urine. The user guides the transducer across the abdomen according to the instructions displayed on the tablet and the AI application then assesses the image information. Both device components, the transducer and the tablet, fit perfectly in one hand and connect to each other wirelessly via Wi-Fi. The transducer handle is designed to be intuitive to hold and avoid contact between the operator’s hand and the patient. The colour scheme in simple grey is not only skilfully matched to the design concept of modern smartphones or tablets, but it also manages to solve a very practical issue: this colour is dirt-repellent, which could otherwise lead to problems through mobile use at the point of care. The freedom of an entirely cable-free design, coupled with a long battery life and fast system start-up time, creates ideal conditions for bedside ultrasonic imaging analysis.
