Manners
During a meal, placing our dirty cutlery on the plate or the table to pause often dirty our hands or surfaces. Manners is a plate designed to encourage good table manners. It has four grooves cut into the rim of the plate – two grooves for resting the cutlery steadily when the diner pauses during the meal, and the other two grooves for placing the cutlery to signal that the meal is finished. The two sets of grooves locate different positions for the cutlery with respect to the two different scenarios, which is important for dining etiquette.
