Manovivo

Manovivo is a wearable smart glove designed to monitor and train the impaired hand in daily life. This, in particular, is relevant to people with rheumatoid arthritis(RA). Manovivo has three parts—finger rings, the main device, and a wrist device—together, they capture the patient’s hand movement with precision before transferring the data via Bluetooth. The ring made with a flexible rubber is specially designed to fit any finger and cushion contact with the fingers, enabling customised measurements according to the symptoms of a patient. The main device consists of an MCU, 9-axis IMU sensor and a Bluetooth v2.0+EDR module. The mini 9-axis IMU sensor provides a higher sensitivity of measurement. A 250mAh battery is incorporated into the main device, which powers the whole system. In addition, the wrist device, which contains the same specifications as those employed in the main, mainly measures complex, small joints bridging the hand and the forearm. Manovivo offers a new way of quantifying hand and finger performance in action. This would effectively assist clinical activity and speed up the rehabilitation of hand dysfunctions.
