This illustrated book thematically explores marital relationships in a relaxed and humorous way. In six chapters – Prologue, Chores, Diet, Money, Sex and Epilogue – the book outlines the course of modern marriages, ranging from wedding vows to periods of conflict, to eventually living together happily in old age. In terms of form, the illustrations evince high quality thanks to the particularly fine, detailed lines and the aptly portrayed figures. Furthermore, multi-layered backgrounds lend the drawings spatial depth.
