Cannabis has been legal for a couple of years in Canada, nevertheless the stigma around its use is still present. In order to break down any lingering prejudices, Flowr, a premium, Toronto-based grower, advertises under the slogan “Nothing to hide”. To promote that message, the commercial references all the familiar places people use to hide cannabis, from film containers to hairbrushes and sock drawers, and set to the perfect soundtrack: Millie Jackson’s 1974 “I’am Tired of Hiding”. Without showing the people themselves, the carefully detailed, staged interiors reveal the wide range of the population who consume cannabis.
