This is an item of furniture that adeptly fuses aesthetics and function.” It is the skilful combination of bentwood and plywood that gives the chair its flowing lines and high degree of stability and makes for a captivating design. Solid, steam-bent roundwood curves around the body, forming the arm- and backrest then seamlessly transitioning into the chair’s front legs. The slender seat, made of moulded plywood, creates an exciting contrast. It rests lightly on wooden cross struts and is gently arched over the backrest. Its organically sweeping silhouette is the result of a finely balanced interplay of traditional artisanry and modern manufacturing techniques and ensures the chair is comfortable and pleasant to sit on. This creative lightness of touch is reflected in the chair’s weight. At a mere 6 kg, the Osuu Chair is remarkably lightweight and versatile in use. Owing to its timeless aesthetic, it harmoniously blends in with a wide variety of interiors, whether in domestic living areas or public spaces. In addition to its elegant appearance, the high-quality workmanship and carefully selected materials ensure this piece of furniture has a long life it. It is made of FSC-certified wood sourced from sustainably managed forests in southern Germany. The range includes versions in oak and walnut, finished with natural hard wax. This gives the wood a matt silk finish and allows the grain of the wood to shine through to great effect. A choice of different wood colours provides creative freedom, allowing users to match the chair to different styles of interior. A seat pad is available in saddle leather for added comfort and can be attached to the chair with the help of clasps without requiring any tools.
