Philips Pediatric Coaching
Philips Pediatric Coaching prepares young patients for an MRI
scan. The solution consists of a gamified mobile app, an educational toy
scanner (Kitten Scanner), and visual and spoken guidance in the bore of the MRI
scanner. For a consistent user experience, all touchpoints feature the same
buddy characters and design elements. The Kitten Scanner is placed in hospital
waiting rooms. When the child pushes one of the supplied educational characters
into it, an appealing animated film about the MRI journey of that character
starts playing. The aim is to familiarize the children with the procedure and
reduce the need for sedation during the MRI scan.
