Pontos Décentrique Phases de Lune

뒤로 다운로드

In antiquity, spectacular instruments were created both for measuring and representing time. In particular, the changing phases of the moon as time passes have always been observed with great fascination and inspiration. The design of the Pontos Décentrique Phases de Lune boldly liberates itself from the preconceptions of classical watchmaking, and as a fascinating reinterpretation lends the moon-phase watch a new form and functionality. The wrist watch features a highly impressive case, 45 millimetres in diameter and made of titanium, which encloses a self-winding mechanical movement. Showcasing a set of functions that speak of both precision and graciousness and which are protected by a sapphire crystal, this wrist watch offers three different modes of measuring and indicating time: at ten o’clock, on an off-centre dial, a single, solo hand tracks the minutes, while the longer hours appear gradually on a disk. Opposite, at four o’clock, one disk in metallised sapphire unveils the phases and age of the moon, and a second disk, positioned below it, bears the day/night indication. Meanwhile, an innovative module for the date indication at six o’clock also attracts attention: inscribed on a disk, it is revealed in a window of metallised glass. The slender outline of the markers and the luminous components provide an impressive contrast with the velvety texture of the black dial, creating the impression of looking into the cosmos. With its detailed and multifaceted design, the Pontos Décentrique Phases de Lune wrist watch delivers a new experience of time and form.

심사평

The time can be read almost everywhere today, but only wrist watches of extraordinary precision, with materials of high quality and a creative arrangement of functions successfully address the emotions of their wearers. Enclosed in a case of titanium, off-centre disks indicate the dial, the phases and age of the moon, as well as the date in small segments. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coatings on both sides reveals a slowly changing constellation while avoiding a cluttered layout.
