The packaging design for the Sichuan Favor and Flavors snacks, a specialty from Sichuan Province, China, directly links to the famous Sichuan Opera face-changing show (“bian lian” in Chinese), which reflects intangible cultural heritage and is beloved by local people. An essential aspect of these shows is that they always feature unexpected surprises and give rise to a feeling of distinction. Therefore, the design quotes the different faces and figures appearing in the show to give people a welcoming appeal and subtle clues to the various product flavours.
