Single-Minded Tableware Series

Single-Minded Tableware Series echoes the unique expressions of Chinese culture. Each plate in the series has a holding space for food that converges inwardly towards the middle to resemble ‘one’ in the Chinese character, which symbolises familial fidelity and happiness, as well as oneness of the heart and soul. The tableware pieces are designed with rounded edges, symbolising ‘great perfection’, and each one performing their own functions to cater to different portions of food. The healthiest way of eating is to eat towards 70% fullness. Thus, the plates are designed with a holding capacity that is 30% less than that of traditional ones as a way to advocate healthier food portions. As the meal progresses, the plated food gradually converges into the ‘one’ abdomen space, making it easy to be picked up by chopsticks. This space also gathers the food in a beautiful manner. Overall, the design convey an intrinsic ‘connectedness’ of man, food and utensils in every step and detail of a meal. Red Dot Award: Design Concept | Concept | Culinary & Kitchen
