Wall designs play a variety of roles in the interior. They can serve to discreetly underline the interior, reflect or correspond to individual elements or create a stylish contrast to the environment. Encapsulating the result of a dialogue between art, design and Italian identity, the design of the Storie ceramic slabs projects a highly enticing aesthetic. They are part of the “CEDIT – Ceramiche d’Italia” brand that is dedicated to creating a new perception of continuous surfaces and offering contemporary designers the opportunity to express themselves through their own creations. Their cooperation with the manufacturer Florim Ceramiche also implies a constant search for technological and formal innovation. The Storie collection was designed by the Studio Zanellato/Bortotto and consists of ceramic slabs in various sizes. The design merges the expressiveness of the material with an impressive kind of pictorial expression. Comprising six different sets of wall coverings, each piece is inscribed by the designers with the theme of the relentless passage of time. The result is a range of wall slabs that each tells its own story. To achieve this, different environments were selected to identify the specific effects caused by the ageing process in each slab. With their subtle design, the Storie ceramic slabs evoke a pictorial language all of their own – for creating fascinating and distinctively appealing interiors.
