Ten Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains

Experimental characters based on writings from traditional Chinese cultures provide the motifs for the poster series “Ten Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains”. They complement each other, criss-cross and overlap, forming diverse patterns and shapes which in turn produce abstract landscapes with trees, mountains, rivers and grasslands. In addition, deliberately used black-and-white contrasts and finely nuanced grey hues create an expressive play of light and shade, and give the motifs printed on the scrolls a special expressiveness.
