The ThinkPad X1 Carbon is a slim and sleek professional business PC. It references an established use of form using a convincing overall concept and was clearly developed with business use in mind. The use of carbon fibre in the top cover, as well as a magnesium alloy in the casing make the X1 Carbon incredibly lightweight and robust. Its impressive design vocabulary is seamlessly combined with the experience of an innovative, adaptive keyboard. It sets new standards of interaction. Depending on which application the user has just called up, the keyboard displays a pre-set range of controls in the form of adaptive keys. Split into four groups – Home, Browser, Conferencing and Function – the keys are then automatically launched by certain applications. This innovative technology offers more control keys to support new functions while simplifying the user interface by presenting controls dynamically as the user needs them. Thanks to a successful rethinking of the design, younger target groups in particular have the opportunity to work with intuitive interaction.
