Tri-Wheel Stair Walker

Walkers currently available on the market do not fully consider short flights of stairs or slopes, so mobility is still limited in these environments. Tri-Wheel Stair Walker provides a solution to navigating stairs. The user can easily switch between level-ground-walking and stairs-walking modes. With a front wheel and two rear wheels, the structure of the walker provides stable support while walking. The height can be adjusted according to different walking modes so that the handle is always at a most comfortable height. The angle of the frame can be changed as well so that it adjusts to various stair heights. Navigating stairs on a walker with wheels can be unsafe. Therefore, the wheels of Tri-Wheel Stair Walker locks the brakes automatically when the user is going down a flight of stairs. When going up the stairs, the wheels only roll forward to prevent the walker from being pushed backwards. Safe walking is ensured. This walker is also easy to fold and store in the trunk of an automobile. Furthermore, two or more walkers can be stacked, which makes them feasible for hospitals and nursing homes.
