Zippo Ceramic Lighter

The ceramic lighter inspired by the ancient Chinese handicraft technique of “Kintsugi” was created as an alternative design to short-lived disposable products. With its elegant aesthetics and choice of materials, it directly refers to the meaning of the word Kintsugi – the visible mending of broken ceramics with Chinese lacquer and real gold. The outer shell of the lighter is made of durable oxide ceramic – not least to indicate the value and longevity of the everyday object.

The lighter cleverly combines two opposites: a supposedly cheap consumer product and an old handicraft characterised by high-quality aesthetics.
