Wujia He is the director of industrial design at Tineco Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. and looks back on 14 years of experience in industrial design and experience design and eight years of experience in product design and team management. During his work, he has won many international well-known design awards, such as the Red Dot Award, the IDEA Award, the iF Design Award, the China Red Star Design Award, and the China Good Design Award. Weiming Zhou, senior interaction designer of the in-house design team, has seven years of experience in product design and interaction design. Yiting Dai, senior visual designer at Tineco Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., has six years of experience in UI design and visual design.

Red Dot: What makes your work unique?
Tineco Intelligent Technology: Our design team carried out an in-depth analysis and has a deep understanding of the product, which helps us to better understand the relationship between users, products and scenarios, thus allowing us to obtain different design highlights.

Was your award-winning work inspired by current social issues?
Yes, the issue of drinking water has always been a hot social issue, and it is related to every corner of people’s lives. Against this backdrop, we started to think about how users usually use water and analysed which drinking water issues users care about most. These reflections provide us with design direction and help our designs to become better and better.

Which target group would you like to address with your award-winning work?
Users of different age groups who have a demand for drinking water quality. The products on the market simply solve the problem of water purification, but the needs of the users go far beyond that. We hope to provide them with a series of drinking water solutions.

Please describe the concept of creativity against the background of your award-winning work.

When we designed the product, we hoped it can provide users with a set of domestic water solutions that meet their needs in different scenarios. At the same time, the interaction interface of the product adopts an easy-to-understand way, so that users can quickly understand the information. In addition, an associated app provides them with a wide range of scenarios that can be implemented.
