Jens Koch, born in Hamburg in 1971, studied philosophy, German and media studies and graduated in 2000. For almost 20 years he has been working on the technology and design of watches in the editorial department of the Chronos magazine. His articles are published worldwide, for example in the USA, China, India and Japan, in affiliated magazines such as Watchtime. In his book “The Rolex Code. The secret of design success” he shows the design principles that make the brand popular. At Chronos, he is responsible, among other things, for the limited special watch editions with well-known manufacturers. There he takes care of the design in collaboration with the designers of the brands. From its founding to its termination in 2018, he was part of the jury for the international Watchstars Award, which was presented annually at the Baselworld watch fair.
