The “100 per cent” packaging design for passion fruit is a stable box for safely transporting a total of 28 fruits with each in its own compartment. Another special feature is that the lid of the box can be folded and used as a practical board for the price labelling, on the one hand – a feature that is not only beautifully crafted but is also highly convenient for vendors as it makes displaying the fruits easier. On the other hand, every fruit in the box comes in its own body frame, so that they can be transported safely after being sold individually or together. What is more, this also cuts down on the use of plastic bags. The box itself is sturdy enough for easy stacking without causing damage to any of the fruits inside. Moreover, the box also features appealing illustrations so that it can be reused later for packaging a gift. As a supplement to the box, a picture book has been created with illustrations in a surreal style depicting the cultivation of passion fruit in Puli and introducing various dishes based on passion fruit.
Statement by the Jury
This packaging design for passion fruit stands out because it is more than just a stable and thoughtfully designed packaging that cannot only be transported extremely well, but also features a modular inner compartment system. What is more, the box can also serve as a point of sale, communicates recipes and tells about the cultivation of the fruit. Combined with a charming graphic appearance and excellent illustrations, it is an embodiment of outstanding design implementation.
