Based on the concept of performing architecture, “2016 Floating Islands” attempts to place three drifting “architectures” that are able to move, grow and gather into the urban gaps of the southern city wall area. Three different states of “Urban Archipelago” respond and intervene with their architectural surroundings to transform the selected urban gaps into villages, stages, schools and theatres. The intention was to return to the starting point of architectural ideology to instigate the loss of physical senses when living in an urban environment, and to develop an architectural scale that is able to drift and change between the body, the city and the landscape.
