The packaging design for a new range of high-quality organic teas for the retailer Albert Heijn probes the boundaries within the existing grid of AH Excellent products. A new form was developed that would stand out on the shelf, while also reflecting the aspect of sustainability. Furthermore, the design was guided by the idea of integrating the customs of international tea culture, as for instance reflected by the Silk Route. This resulted in an authentic and original design that tells relevant stories. The visual language is derived from antique Oriental blue-white tea sets with their beautiful ornamentation.
