The classic Kurrent script (or German running hand) was the standard writing style in the German-speaking world until banned by the National Socialists in 1941. Today, the information it conveys is becoming increasingly inaccessible, because we can no longer decipher the cursive lettering. In view of this regrettable development, the book is dedicated to the history of the Kurrent script. It explains the advantages of the almost forgotten style and demonstrates how it may easily be (re-)learned. To achieve this, the book presents selected and lovingly designed exercises as well as recipes from grandmother’s recipe book.
