Glowing characters, cast metal letters, sprayed-on messages – font types in public places are the visual fragrances of a city. The exhibition “alphabet innsbruck” reveals the hidden stories beyond the obvious semantics of the characters. This publication consists of typefaces and letters that were photographed in Innsbruck from unusual perspectives and then reproduced with the greatest possible accuracy. Thus, a documentation of the typographic web was created that captures the written culture of the city.
