Auris Monarch is a solution that combines the latest advancements in robotics, user experience, software, data science and radical endoscope improvement. As the endoscope has hardly changed since the 1960s, the mission was to create a next-generation surgical robotic solution to help diagnose and fight lung cancer. The Monarch Platform offers an innovative flexible endoscopic technology that allows physicians to diagnose small, hard-to-reach peripheral nodules earlier and with greater precision. When working with Auris Health on the platform, the design focused on industrial design, design for manufacturing, user experience, user interface design, visual design and high-fidelity prototyping. The result is a surgical system that is unified by a consistent, intuitive physical and digital interface. It combines traditional endoscopic views with computer-assisted navigation based on 3D models of the patient’s lung anatomy. This allows for a continuous view throughout the procedure, which is a significant improvement on existing endoscopic systems – thereby enhancing physician capabilities and improving patient outcomes.
