Highlight of the Ruhrfestspiele festival 2011 is the play “The Giacomo Variations” starring John Malkovich as Casanova. However, on the advertisements and posters of festival sponsor Evonik, Malkovich has to share the spotlight – with Silvio Berlusconi. They both play the ageing seducer: one of them on the theatre stage, the other one at Bunga Bunga Parties. The photographic juxtaposition presents both in a similar colour setting, while the headlines provocatively reflect on the implied common characteristics of both figures.
