The core of the rebrand for BR Fernsehen (Bayerischer Rundfunk), in Germany, is defined by a new centred station logo, designed to serve as a visual “haven” placed around clear, informative navigation elements. The objective was to thus strengthen BR Fernsehen’s identification and underscore its role as a trusted, around-the-clock broadcaster. The realisation opted for a design that was to be perceived as being understated, pure, timeless and informative. The concept of celebrating people and their favourite places conveys a wider perspective on Bavaria as a German federal state.
