The Clemens Strobl Boutique Winery in the wine-growing area Wagram in Austria manufactures limited edition high-quality wines for sale all over the world. The graphic composition of the premium line is derived from the locations of the vines, their different characters and bouquets, as well as the myths and legends that have been exclusively written for these wines. The concept is based on hand-drawn figures that are aimed at conveying the story and uniqueness of every single location. Printed on the bottles through a direct printing process, these figures feature a styling that evokes the Belle Époque; they adorn the bottles from base to neck, showing a great love for detail. As a recurring element, the wine labels are essential for forging links between previous vintages. The labels are printed on finely textured paper and refined with a gold-coloured hot foil stamped logo. After bottling, every single bottle is dipped by hand into wax to seal it.

Statement by the Jury

The design of this packaging demonstrates how illustrations can be successfully used for wine bottles. The illustrations match the shape of the bottle, establishing a reduction to the essential. The concept provides wine connoisseurs with detailed information, telling a captivating story. It embodies an excellent implementation of all design elements in total.
