Installation

Die Raucherlunge

Back Download

To remind passers-by of their good resolutions regarding their nicotine consumption at the turn of the year, the installation puts emphasis on the symbolism of the tree. Branches of a sycamore tree, which symbolises the green lung of the city, were transformed into a “sick” lung in an attention-grabbing way. 150 black balls, which were hung into the branches in the shape of a human lung, symbolised tar-damaged pulmonary alveoli and, by doing so, pointed to the risks of smoking. The message was additionally displayed on a sign at the bottom of the tree.
