Eslite Spectrum Gallery

Back Download

Based on the concept of an aesthetic living gallery and a lifestyle Mecca with a 72-step grand staircase winding through this temple to the written word, the Eslite Spectrum Suzhou features a prelude to the bookstore, a performance hall and other shopping opportunities. It was thus meant to emerge as a space infused with a sense of ritual and appeal. This was achieved through the use of minimalist design elements like soaring wooden grilles and stone steps that expand on the building itself. Perpendicularly designed to the lines of motion, the concrete walls, wooden lattices and linking bridges engage in a dialogue with the space.
