Foggy Island

Back

The illustrated book Foggy Island deals with the theme of environmental pollution. It contains full-size illustrations of an island kept in tender colour hues. The positive impact of environmental protection is expressed through the contrast between pure white clouds and black foggy smoke. This is achieved by using several transparent pages showing clouds or billows of smoke respectively, which are superimposed onto the illustrations by turning those pages. The beholders look from a bird’s-eye view and, depending on the number of layers, see either a clean or a polluted island.
