GAK Data Center Signage

Back

The design of the signage system for Data Center GAK by South Korea’s largest Internet portal focused on visualising the name “GAK”, which originates from Jangkyung Gak, an important historic Korean institution. Declared part of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, this institution with its unique wooden windowpanes and internal structures also served as inspiration for the motif of the signage systems. The four keywords delicacy, stability, size and system were selected and communicated to express GAK’s information storage system’s durability and massive amount of data. Each material’s unique texture is combined with deep colour tones and symbolic elements, such as vertical wooden panes, which have been remodelled for a more modern look.
