At the Mid-Autumn Festival in Kinmen, Bo-Bing is a component of traditional customs. It is a game in which the players can win various cakes, for instance a Scholar Cake. The gift package for Scholar Cake is made of paper and consists of two parts. Inside, placed on a tray with a carrying handle, there are four square boxes for easy removal of the individually packed cakes, whereas the richly decorated outer packaging protects the contents. It can later be used as a traditional scholar’s cap.
