Hinz&Kunzt Handcrafted Cardboard Illustrations

On the occasion of local elections, these cardboard carvings drew attention to the fact that in affluent Hamburg thousands of people were living in the streets while more than 1.4 million sqm of living and office space were vacant. Corrugated cardboard in a very illustrative design replaced the usual election posters: portraits of homeless people were cut into the top layers and catchy slogans were added with markers. The handcrafted posters marked vacant buildings and floor posters were spread on shopping streets; even a 300-sqm variation was used.
