On the occasion of local elections, a campaign against vacancies drew attention to the fact that in the affluent metropolis Hamburg thousands of people were living in the streets while more than 1.4 million sqm of living and office space remained vacant. Key elements of the entire campaign are posters made from corrugated cardboard with portraits of homeless people carved into the top layers and powerful slogans added with markers. The handcrafted posters were attached extensively to the front facades of vacant buildings. Additionally floor posters were on display in shopping streets.
