This smart white cane employs independent power technology, so-called energy harvesting, which converts mechanical kinetic energy generated by the movement of the cane into electric energy through electromagnetic induction. This energy is then used by the ultrasonic sensors to detect obstacles. In combination with an integrated GPS module and a smartphone app, the cane is able to find a safe path. Integrated LED lights further increase safety.
