Print Campaign

Kopiert ruhig weiter

Back

For every legal music download today there are six illegal downloads. Internet piracy and acquiring illegal copies of music via the Internet destroy not only the livelihood of musicians, but also that of a whole industry. The print campaign “Kopiert ruhig weiter” (Copy On) raises this issue by showing covers of legendary music albums, such as by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd, which have been copied over and over again on a stand-ard black-and-white photocopy machine – until they were barely recognisable as the pieces of music history they represent. The campaign thus impressively demonstrates the effect of copying. The more you copy, the more you lose. Statement by the jury »The idea for this work is a very strong one: take the covers of world-famous music albums and repeatedly photocopy them until they become blurred and hardly identifiable. An impressive solution for communicating the message, which will surely leave an impact on the young target group and raise their awareness of the effects that their actions have.«
