Through interactive posters commissioned by NABU (a German nature conservation organisation), the “Keep them flying!” campaign visualised the fact that Germany’s butterflies are threatened with extinction. It also called attention to the importance of raising donations for the organisation. The interactive posters were activated and brought to life by inserting a one euro coin. The images then started to rotate quickly, like a flip book, creating the impression of colourful butterflies fluttering over the surface of the pictures. Important information was thus conveyed to the audience, and it was also made available for download as a smartphone app.
