The intention behind these illustrations was to embellish tourist products while providing glimpses into the history of Korea. The attire of the Korean kings and queens depicted is historically inspired and the highly detailed patterns are reminiscent of traditional examples. However, the images have a modern twist by showing the characters in bright colours and in part strongly stylised. Thanks to their eye-catching and decorative design, the motifs are nicely suited as imprints for various gifts and accessories.
