Mr Woo, the name of this Chinese-style variety store, has a double meaning: first, it is a praise towards a Zen-type of self-realisation and refers to a meditative state. Secondly, it refers to a general attitude to life and self-confidence, resulting in the ability to make the right choices. In that sense, the character of Mr Woo, representing a confident, brilliant person with wit, turned into a trademark that gives customers the feeling of choosing what is right for them. The shape of the character is reminiscent of the traditional seal carvings and their felicitous embodiment of Chinese aesthetics.
