“Rote Zeit durch kleine Augen” (Red Time Through Small Eyes) is a story about a little girl, the author herself, growing up in Poland in the 1980s. The People’s Republic of Poland is seen through the eyes of a child, who was not involved in any kind of political conflict. Each chapter follows, based on historical facts, a different topic and is about another episode in the heroine’s life. Collages and illustrations thereby comment on the many different events, utilising a very expressive symbolism.
